One of my obsessions is Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. They were founded in 2000 after merging the creative spirit of Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. Through the years, they have evolved into a major designer brand with boutiques all over the world, and it’s one that style enthusiasts really love.
I’ve known about Golden Goose for years and I would often look through what FarFetch had, as they always had an amazing selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always found them a bit pricey and resembled Converse too much, so they were always on my mental wishlist. Some time back, Adam was the one who originally loved the brand and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what made me pay more attention. Seeing his pair up close and noticing that no two pairs are alike because they’re crafted by hand in Italy, I was more intrigued. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are deliberately worn-looking and made to look used and abused, they are all hand done so each one is different. Some have much more abrasions and dirt than others, so there’s a whole spectrum.
If you’re shopping offline, it might be a good idea to ask to see a few of the same shoe and select from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to hope you get a good pair!The pair of sneakers that I liked from the beginning are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been on the market forever, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I actually ended up getting the Shopbop-exclusive silver pair, and they’re a pair I have used occasionally (see here and my Golden Goose review here). I really enjoy them! I also own a pair of velvet burgundy Golden Goose, and two pairs of high tops! I do definitely want a new black version, but I have a pair of Converse in black canvas, so I’m not sure I should get both, even though they’re different.
